Vector Control (Mosquito Spraying) season begins mid-April and continues through mid-September of every year in the Village of Corrales. Sandoval County and Bernalillo County Vector Control technicians fog in the Village every Wednesday night during the spraying season between the hours of 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. In the event that the spraying cannot be completed, fogging will take place on some Thursday nights between the hours of 8:00 pm and 12:00 midnight. The general area to be sprayed is the entire limits of the Village of Corrales with exception given to those residents not wanting vector control and who have “No Spraying” signs visible for the technicians viewing. The Corrales Bosque Preserve is not sprayed.
Those residents who choose not to have their property sprayed may go to the Village Offices during regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30 pm) to request that the public right-of-way abutting their real property be omitted from the fogging route. The “No Spraying” signs will be available for a $5.00 charge for those residents who request them. Any resident who wants more information on the Vector Control Program may call Sandoval County at 269-0372.

15. How can I identify if a road in Corrales is a Public or Private Road?
Road NM448 (Corrales Road) is a State Road, maintained by the State of New Mexico. Refer to This Map to identify if a road is Public or Private. On the map all shaded roads are "public "roads".

16. How do I find out if it is a burn day in Corrales?
Call the burn line at 899-9819

17.Why are there gates at the entrance to the Bosque at the north end and Romero?
As the two locations with gates are known for having persons enter to have "parties" and they are the farthest away from Corrales Road, the gates are used during wind events and when the Bosque is extremely dry due to lack of rain. They will also be used if there is a fire or other emergency in the Bosque.

18.Does Corrales Fire Department charge for the services they provide?
No, there is no charge for emergency services from Corrales Fire.

19. If I call 911 where does the call go?
All 911 calls in Sandoval County go to the Sandoval County Regional Emergency Communications Center in Rio Rancho.

20. I was watching the fire department at a fire and want to know why some of the fire trucks would come to the fire and then turn around and leave?
The fire truck you saw leaving were tenders. As Corrales has no municipal water system we use tenders to haul water to our fire scenes and then dump the water in to drop tanks for use on the fire. The tenders then go back to our water tanks and refill.

21. I see a white fire truck in the Bosque everyday while I am walking why is it there?
The department patrols the Bosque every day to look for fires and educate people on the rules of the Bosque. We use our Brush truck for this patrol.

22. If I have a medical emergency is it better for me to dial 911 or drive myself to the fire station?
IF you are having a medical emergency dial 911, don't drive to the station. There are many reasons not to drive; one you are ill or injured, two you may get to the station and everyone could be out. When you dial 911 the dispatch center will contact the department through the radio and ensure we are notified of your emergency.

23. What if I am driving by the station and have an emergency?
If you are driving by and have an emergency the station has a door bell, if no one answers there is an emergency phone on the wall by the door. Use this phone; it connects directly to the 911 center.

24. I have several fire and safety questions I would like to talk to someone about, is there any way I can speak to a firefighter?
Of course, this is your Fire Department. You can call 898-7501 or stop by the station we would be happy to answer your questions.
