Mayor's Message for April 15th, 2022

Corrales Coyote

The coyote (not the same one pictured above) will be out and about hunting for eggs this Saturday in La Entrada Park. Will he run across a rabbit? In Corrales? Oh yeah. Remember: 10 AM for the hunt. The eggs could be discovered quickly, so don't be late. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy, with temperatures in the upper 50's to low 60's  https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/us/nm/corrales/87048/date/2022-04-16

Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 9AM until noon marks the beginning of the Grower’s Market regular growing season. It's hard to say what kinds of crops we will see since water is scarce and temperatures have been up and down. Please make the trip to support our local farmers and stock up on local produce. Green leafy vegetables will probably be in abundance as well as some starts for your garden. Ask the vendors when and what to plant, and if protection is needed.

A lot of activities are planned for April 30, 2022, so be sure to mark your calendars:

The Antique Tractor Show, put on by the Corrales Tractor Club, will be May 7, 2022. It will be held on the Parks and Rec Center's Front Field, located at 500 Jones Road from 9 AM to 3 PM. There will be tractors, cars, food, music and fun. Admission is FREEhttps://corralestractorclub.com/

Your clutter may be another’s treasure. The Corrales Historical Society will be holding a Treasures Sale Fundraiser May 21, 2022. Think of this as you clean out your storeroom or garage during spring cleaning. We will have more information soon on how you can donate to the event https://www.corraleshistory.org/.

You can now pay your Roadrunner Waste bill online. The company mailed out letters over the past couple weeks with instructions for how to register your account to pay online. You can call their office for assistance registering if you accidentally recycled their notice, or if you have issues logging in,  505-867-9000, or visit their website: https://www.roadrunnerwastenm.com/village-of-corrales

Covid vaccinations are still ongoing. Contact Commander Tanya Lattin, 505-702-4182,  if you need help registering, or you can do so online:

https://goodtimes.vaccinenm.org/stay-ahead-nm/ New Mexico is predicted to see another surge, so protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated.

It’s hard to believe that summer is so close considering these cold mornings. Corrales registration for summer events starts May 2, 2022 at 8 am. Registration is on the village website on the Parks and Rec page  and is for pool parties, swimming lessons, and swim team. Life guards are also needed, age 15 or older with certification.

The Village offices will be closed today but will be back for business as usual on Monday. The library will be closed today and tomorrow, and will also be back to normal hours on Monday.
