Mayor's Message for November 29th 2019

Picture of Geese in a Field

Are you still coming out of your Thanksgiving Day food coma? Perhaps you are out there for Black Friday.

This Sunday, December 1, is Arts Alive! from 11-5, which will feature an Arts Crawl and help support small business in the Village. Here’s your chance to see neighbors, patronize local businesses and help Corrales thrive, all at the same time. It is also Shop Small Saturday nationwide this weekend. So whenever you are shopping keep our local businesses in mind!

Once again this year, the Friends of Corrales Library are asking the community to grant the wishes of our wonderful Librarians by donating to the Library Giving Tree. The tree is in the Children's Room at the Library. We ask that you take a bag (or 2 or 3.....) and make a donation (minimum of $5 per bag). Donations support children's books, DVDs and music, the Spanish collection, or general collection materials. Thank you for your continuing generosity.

Continuing with the subject of Giving Trees, the Fire Department's Giving Tree is up at the Administration office. This is another great opportunity to give clothes and toys to local children in need. Stop by and pick up a tag or two! If you have any questions reach out to Tanya at the Fire Department (505-898-7501).

Our Starlight Parade is coming up on Saturday, December 7, featuring decorated vehicles, St. Nick and a Bonfire! The parade will twinkle down Corrales Road and end at the Recreation Center. There will be cookies, carolers and hot drinks. Want to be a part of it? Decorate your vehicle, boat or float with as many lights as possible and show up at Wagner’s Farmland Experience, 6445 Corrales Road. Saturday, December 7, 5:30 – 8:30 PM.

On December 6, 7 and 8th, visit the 31st Winter Crafts Show from 10-5 at the Old Church. Beautiful items. Free admission and parking. For more details about this event and Corrales Historical Society, check out:https://www.corraleshistory.org.

Don’t forget to visit the Corrales Growers’ Market on Sunday, from 11-1. The Village Office will reopen on Monday, December 2.

Whatever you do, take time to enjoy the season and do it up right, Corrales-style.
