Mayor's Message for November 4th, 2022

Balloons at Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat was a huge success! Kudos to the village staff for putting together such a great show, especially Lynn Siverts. Thanks to all of you and also the volunteers and balloonists who put on the show. This was a great venue for the kids and adults to celebrate Halloween

It's time to fall back! Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 6. Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour before going to bed Saturday night so you won't be late to any events on Sunday.

Last Saturday the University of New Mexico Lobo football team visited Corrales to help clean up the Bosque. The event was hosted by the Corrales Bosque Advisory Commission and the Corrales Fire Department. About a dozen Lobo players, including coaches Rocky Long and Dante, helped clear huge truckloads of dead-and-down wood out of the Bosque.  They were joined by Volcano Vista high school football players and some alumni from 1972  in this effort. Thanks to these players and coaches for participating in this valuable event.

Be sure to vote. Election Day is November 8, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. It is our civil duty as citizens to vote our conscience for the leaders of our democracy and preserve that democracy for our children. The last day to vote early is tomorrow, November 5th. You can vote at the Community Center from 10 AM to 7 PM today and tomorrow, and at the Rec Center on Tuesday from 7 AM - 7 PM.

This Sunday marks both First Sunday, sponsored by Corrales MainStreet, and the last Grower's Market before they switch to their winter hours. You can start the morning with a trip to the Grower's Market from 9 AM to 12 PM, then follow the signs throughout the Village to shop with local vendors and artists between 10 AM and 4 PM for First Sunday.

Don’t forget the Friends of the Library $5 Bag Book sale next weekend, November 12 and 13 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the San Ysidro Parish Hall. Put it on your calendar. There are lots of books and good prices.
