The next regularly scheduled meeting of Corrales Village Council, to be held on Tuesday April 26, will be entirely dedicated to a discussion of the coming fiscal year budget. For the past two years, we have held separate Town Hall meeting for citizens to communicate their interests and priorities for the Village finances. However, our budget process is a bit compressed this year.
So in lieu of our meetings at the Rec Center, villagers are encouraged to come on to the meeting on Tuesday evening and address their priorities directly to the Administration and the Council at once. Issues to be discussed will be both our operating budget, as well as possible capital projects to be pursued.
Municipalities like the Village of Corrales are required by statute to submit a balanced budget proposal to the State Department of Finance and Administration for their approval by May 31.
